There is a ton ot very helpful information in this book. Anyone interested in rocks, minerals, or crystals will find this a much-needed addition to their rock-hunting material. Although the book's focus is on Texas, the high-quality images and information about composition, appearance, hardness, etc. would be applicable in many other regions.The pages are laminated to protect them from water, dirt, or whatever else gets on them, so the book is durable and will last many years. After all, the information in it will not be changing anytime soon!

Excellent Texas Rock and Mineral hunting guide

This book is extremely well designed and thought out. Provides excellent information on the Rocks and Minerals of Texas. I especially like how easy it is to look up information about each rock/mineral(The pictures really help). Ialso like the construction of the book a lot!

I just received my copy today! I've already scanned it cover to cover and stopped several times for a deeper read. The images are sharp and colorful. The organization is smart. The information is concise and what is needed in the field. But the feature I love about this guide is the compact size with normal size print and every page is laminated to be sturdy and durable. Fits in my outside pocket of my backpack. Great value that will hold up for years and years. I think it's the perfect guide for beginners and old RockHounds alike.
